I believe that everyone can heal from trauma when they search for, and receive, the support they need. Knowledge of a problem and then searching for help are the first steps along the path to regaining control over the troubles that bring us harm. Together, we will build a space to safely explore your troubles and look for positive solutions that fit your needs. This process is challenging at times, and sometimes scary, but we will travel together and move closer to your goals that you deeply desire. I have experience working with anger management, depression, substance abuse, grief, stress, trauma and personal growth in a variety of ages ranging from tweens/preteens to older adults. I take a holistic approach and customize the therapy experience to meet each person's needs using Motivational Interviewing, Narrative, Solutions Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy perspectives. I am here for you and will be with you along your journey.

My native ancestors said it best; "When we show respect for other living things, they will respond with respect for us." - Arapaho. "You already possess everything necessary to become great "- Crow

I entered the professional field of therapy because I believe in the power of relationships, and that when people have healthy, functional, and satisfying relationships, they are happier and more content in their lives. I have worked as professional therapist for over 3 years in group, couple, and individual settings. My clinical approach to counseling is Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, which falls under the purview of Cognitive Behavior Therapy. This approach allows me to empathize and connect with clients, but to also challenge thinking in a kind and compassionate manner. My favorite part of my job is to witness the growth in others, and the honor and privilege of being invited into one’s private world.  I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Science degree in Counseling.

Life can feel overwhelming when you are facing personal struggles or experiencing conflict in important relationships. I can help you identify the patterns in your life that are limiting you and guide you toward developing better coping skills to find healing in the difficult areas of your life. Through my extensive work with children, families and adults who have survived trauma, I've learned effective strategies for supporting those who are experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, eating disorders, parent-child conflict, relationship issues, and the effects of living with a painful past.

In children, the effects of trauma can result in anger, inability to focus, defiance & depression. My primary approach with children is through art/play therapy to help the children express their inner world. I strive to provide services to children, adults & families to help support, strengthen relationships, and heal hearts.

Ideal client - cycling, resistant, depressed/crying and still willing to come in.

To be successful, you have to see yourself as successful. I believe in promoting interpersonal and personal well-being and growth through therapy. It sometimes takes an outside perspective to support us in moving forward in our relationships and in our lives. I will support you in making changes in your thinking and life.

I use solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, and narrative approaches to help you look at those areas that you want to change. At times, I may ask you questions you have never asked yourself, and I will support you in opening to new ways of thinking. I am LGBTQII friendly.

New to therapy? Not sure what it is and what you’re looking for? Want to learn more about yourself and why you do the things you do? You may be in a place of confusion; feeling overtaken with anxiety, anger, and depression. You might be questioning your past and present life, and whether or not it affects what you do and feel today. You may be struggling to identify what it is you are feeling and what to do about it. My ideal client is someone with curiosity and willingness, and can allow me to walk alongside them on their path to self-awareness with a gentle and non-judgmental approach; to create, rebuild, or just maintain it. My belief is that you can.

My experience working in schools, inpatient and residential treatment, outpatient clinics, crisis shelters, and home-based healthcare services, has given me the opportunity to help many individuals confronting and healing from acute/complex trauma and emotional/behavioral dysregulation. I utilize a person-centered, relational, and strength-based approach.

Human beings are uniquely wired for connection, which is both our greatest gift and often our greatest source of suffering. Anxiety, depression, shame, loneliness and negative life patterns are often just symptoms of invisible wounds that are asking for attention and care. While I hold firmly that every person already has everything they need to heal and grow, I understand that it is profoundly difficult to work through these painful places alone, and that human connection is simply the best avenue for recovery and change. My role as a clinical practitioner is to bring warmth, attunement and reflection to your internal world, working with you to recognize and attend to the buried traumas, limiting beliefs, and unacknowledged emotional experiences within you so that you may inhabit a more spacious, healthy, and authentic life.

For the past ten years I have been working with children, adolescents and families as they move out of trauma and conflict toward stability, healthy functioning and reconnection. I have significant experience with adolescents addressing issues related to gender & sexuality, shame, depression, anxiety, substance use, and self-harm / suicidality. I utilize a relational, trauma-informed and emotionally-focused approach that rests on attachment theory and am humbled to work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I trust that the best place to start is right where you are.

I believe every person has the ability to heal. Asking for help is a part of that process. I will work with you to find strengths within your weaknesses, and find ways to get your needs met in healthy ways. I have experience helping people build their self-esteem and self-worth, while decreasing feelings of hopelessness, loneliness, and sadness. I have experience helping people heal themselves from anger, anxiety, trauma, addiction and substance abuse. Healing is challenging work, and I may ask you to confront obstacles that stand in the way of achieving your goals, but I will be right beside you as you take the steps necessary to build the life you want to live.
